Aseptec  Sdn Bhd is a distributor of WITec for high-resolution optical and scanning probe microscopy solutions for scientific and industrial applications. WITec’s product line features scanning near-field optical microscopy using unique cantilever technology, confocal Raman Imaging and Scanning Electron Microscopy designed for the highest sensitivity and resolution, and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) for materials research and nanotechnology. The modular design of WITec microscopes allows the combination of these techniques. Thus not only chemical information, but also structural and topographic information can be acquired at the same time and on the same sample area using one instrument and one operating system—all from the same manufacturer. Abalonyx AS is a Norway based company engaged in production and R&D related to graphene oxide and graphene oxide derivatives since 2008. We produce and sell single layer graphene oxide (GO) and thermally reduced graphene oxide (rGO) in Kg-quantities and are presently developing several derivatives for special applications, including protective coatings for autoparts, a process for remediation of water contaminated with heavy metals and radionuclides based on a GO-based scavenger-system. We are also involved in collaborative development of modified GO and rGO for use in composites for construction materials, certain sports equipment and energy storage in several collaborative projects. Our sister company, Graphene Batteries AS uses a special rGO-grade in its battery developments. We actively work with our customers to tune our GO and rGO to their needs.

In the National Innovation Council meeting on the 29th of October 2009 chaired by the Right Honorable Prime Minister, Nanotechnology was identified as one of the new growth engines for the New Economic Model (NEM). 
On the 14th of February 2011, the National Innovation Council convened and agreed that a nanotechnology commercialisation agency was needed and corresponding activities must be aligned with Agensi Inovasi Malaysia's (AIM) initiatives. 
NanoMalaysia Berhad was incorporated in 2011 as a company limited by guarantee (CLG) under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) to act as a business entity entrusted with nanotechnology commercialisation activities.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry was established in April 1956 and situated in Government Office, Jalan Raja.
The Ministry was then renamed the Ministry of Trade and Industry in February 1972. On 27 October 1990, the Ministry was separated into two Ministries which are:

- Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI); and

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) was established on 10 January 1997 and is a leading private university in Malaysia.

UTP offers a wide range of industry-relevant engineering, science and technology programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  It aims to produce well-rounded graduates with excellent leadership qualities and communication abilities.

The university conducts extensive research activities in collaboration with PETRONAS and other institutions and industries, locally and abroad, on six research focus and niche areas.  They are self-sustainable building, transport infrastructure, health analytics, hydrocarbon recovery, contaminant management and autonomous system.

NanoVerify Sdn. Bhd. (NVSB), a wholly owned company under NanoMalaysia Berhad (NMB), an agency under the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC) is mandated to monitor and facilitate nanotechnology development and commercialization in Malaysia. NVSB has been delegated by NMB to fully operate Malaysia's first and only nano certification programme owned by them, known as the NANOVerify Programme.

 
 
     
         

National Nanotechnology Centre (NNC) (previously known as National Nanotechnology Directorate) was established on 13th January 2010 and officially began operations in July 2010 under the auspices of MOSTI. NNC serves as the National Focal Point for the coordination of research, development and all related activities of nanotechnology in Malaysia. NNC is also tasked to create awareness by creating a conducive environment that encourages invention, innovation and technology development in the nanotechnology community.

NNC has the responsibility to evaluate and monitor applications for funding of R&D projects under ScienceFund, TechnoFund and DSTIN. The primary Field of Research under these programmes are nanotechnology, nano materials, catalyst and reaction engineering and functional materials.
